About the Role
Martin Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join a welcoming, collaborative team that's been trusted in the Etobicoke community for over seven decades. This is a part-time opportunity where you'll work alongside experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and client care staff who genuinely respect each other and communicate openly — a rarity in veterinary medicine.
You'll assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures, using a range of diagnostic equipment, prepping patients and instruments for surgery, and administering and monitoring medications. Your role matters here: the practice values teamwork, respects your skills, and gives you room to grow professionally while maintaining the work-life balance you need.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment
- Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Administer and monitor medications under veterinary direction
- Build positive client relationships through genuine care, compassion, and exceptional customer service
- Maintain professional standards and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) designation in Ontario, or eligible to write the VTNE
- Successfully completed a 2- or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program
- In good standing with the provincial regulatory association
- Genuine care and compassion for clients and their pets
- Strong communication and customer service skills
