About the Role

London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist to join a dedicated team of specialists and emergency physicians. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday (with flexibility on which days you work). You'll be diagnosing and managing complex internal medicine cases in a hospital setting designed to support referral-level veterinary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic expertise in internal medicine cases referred from primary care veterinarians
  • Perform advanced diagnostic procedures and interpret results to guide treatment decisions
  • Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and other specialists on complex, multi-system cases
  • Deliver exceptional client communication and education about diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Contribute to a culture of mentorship and collegial support within the department

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal residency program in internal medicine; board-certified or board-eligible with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM)
  • Valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and licensure to practice in Canada
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills with a strong passion for patient care
  • Outstanding customer service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients
  • Positive, collegial personality with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining organizational focus
