Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre is looking for a dependable and confident Veterinary Assistant to join the emergency team. You'll be supporting our veterinary staff across a range of hands-on tasks, from patient care to maintaining a clean, welcoming hospital environment.

As a Veterinary Assistant in emergency medicine, you'll develop skills quickly, work alongside experienced professionals, and gain exposure to diverse cases and treatments. The role combines direct animal care with client interaction—creating a calm, compassionate experience for both pets and their worried owners during stressful moments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary staff with patient treatments and clinical tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces
• Create a warm, welcoming environment for clients and patients
• Support a positive, low-stress atmosphere in the hospital
• Learn veterinary procedures and stay current with medical office protocols
• Work independently and take initiative to complete daily tasks efficiently
