North Bay, ON
Internship, Full-Time
No On-Call

Final-year VT students: gain real-world experience at a supportive small animal practice in North Bay, with a stipend to cover travel costs. Work with experienced vets and RVTs across surgery, anesthesia, radiology, and more.

About the Role

This is your chance to step into clinical practice as a final-year veterinary technician student. NVA Canada's VT Practicum Program places you in a small animal practice where you'll work alongside experienced veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians, developing hands-on skills across patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology, and diagnostic imaging. You'll also build communication abilities with medical teams and clients — essential skills for launching your RVT career.

Cassells Animal Hospital is a supportive, fun-loving small animal practice where the team works well together, even in high-pressure moments. Because there's no emergency clinic nearby, you'll have the opportunity to flex a range of skills beyond routine visits and surgeries. The practice has a collaborative culture built on good humour and solid teamwork.

Practicums are flexible, ranging from 2 to 8 weeks to fit your schedule and career goals. Eligible students receive a stipend to help with travel expenses, so you can focus entirely on learning and skill-building without financial stress.
