Veterinary Technician Practicum
Final-year vet tech student? NVA Canada's practicum program gives you real-world clinical experience at a supportive practice—plus a stipend to cover travel costs.
About the Role
Ready to bridge the gap between classroom and career? NVA Canada's Veterinary Technician Practicum Program is designed for final-year students who want hands-on experience in a collaborative, dynamic practice environment. You'll work directly with experienced DVMs and RVTs, developing clinical skills across patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, and radiology. Beyond technical skills, you'll refine your communication with medical teams and clients—competencies that set successful RVTs apart.
Practicums run from two to eight weeks, so you can choose a timeframe that fits your academic schedule and career goals. If you're enrolled in an accredited Canadian veterinary technician program and completing your final practicum in your final year, you're eligible for a travel expense stipend—removing financial barriers so you can focus entirely on learning.
