Clinical Assistant

This is a permanent full-time position (32–40 hours/week) offering flexible scheduling between Monday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays. You'll support a team of ophthalmology experts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your ability to multitask and collaborate directly impacts patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist during pre-operative exams and accurately complete patient charts
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative testing for patients
• Answer patient questions and ensure excellent service throughout their visit
• Work closely with optometrists to support clinical workflow
• Update the appointment system following each patient consultation
• Schedule and confirm post-operative appointments by telephone
• Support the organization's risk management program by identifying and reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management

Requirements

• Excellent English communication skills
• Comfort with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (EMR system experience is an asset)
• Interest in the medical field and passion for delivering excellent customer service
• Ability to build trust and connect with patients quickly
• Health care experience is an asset (medical assistant, physiotherapy assistant, optometry assistant, orderly, dental assistant, pharmacy technician, sterilization assistant, veterinary assistant, or similar)
• Flexible availability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays
