Registered Veterinary Technician

About the Role

Downtown Animal Clinic is seeking an RVT to join a close-knit team of experienced technicians, veterinarians, and support staff who genuinely care about both pets and the people who love them. In this role, you'll assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures, working with diagnostic equipment, preparing patients and instruments for surgery, and administering and monitoring medications. You'll also build positive client relationships through genuine compassion and exceptional customer service, making every interaction count for both patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment
• Prepare patients, instruments, and surgical equipment
• Administer and monitor medications under veterinarian direction
• Build positive client relationships through compassionate, respectful interactions
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and support team members

Requirements

• Passed the VTNE or eligible to write the VTNE
• In good standing with the provincial regulatory association (Alberta)
• Completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program
