Ready to lead? This North Vancouver RVT role splits your time between hands-on clinical work (80%) and management that shapes culture (20%) — perfect for a natural leader ready to level up.

About the Role

You'll work at the top of your scope as an RVT 80% of the time, delivering exceptional patient care and assisting veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures. The remaining 20% is dedicated to management and operational leadership — a chance to shape team culture, inspire colleagues, and drive operational excellence without leaving clinical work entirely behind.

This is a hybrid clinical-leadership opportunity designed for an experienced RVT who's ready to step into a more strategic role. You'll manage inventory, budgets, and financial aspects of the practice while maintaining the clinical excellence that makes North Vancouver Pet Hospital stand out. The team values communication, respect, and collaborative problem-solving, and they're flexible about scheduling — whether you need full-time or part-time hours, they'll work with you to find the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform RVT duties at the highest scope: assisting veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery
  • Administer and monitor medications under veterinarian direction
  • Build positive client relationships through genuine care, compassion, and exceptional customer service
  • Manage practice inventory, budgets, and financial operations
  • Provide leadership and operational guidance to the veterinary team
  • Mentor RVTs, veterinary assistants, and client care staff

Requirements

  • Current RVT registration in British Columbia or eligibility to write the VTNE
  • Completed a 2- or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program
  • In good standing with the provincial regulatory association
  • Background in leadership and management preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster a collaborative environment

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $25.00–$33.00/hour
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance
  • Flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time options available)
  • Generous vacation and paid time off
  • Access to a continuing education platform to develop veterinary skills
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (mental health, relationship, financial, and nutritional support)
  • Community-wide social platform and recognition programs
  • Access to VetCare's veterinary learning platform

About the Practice

North Vancouver Pet Hospital is part of VetCare, a proudly Canadian network with roots in Vancouver that has grown across Canada. The practice blends the personal touch of a local clinic with the collective expertise and mentorship of a larger veterinary community, focusing on clinical excellence and exceptional patient outcomes.

VetCare's collaborative approach means you'll have access to shared learning resources, operational support, and a wider network of veterinary professionals — all while maintaining the supportive, community-focused environment that defines North Vancouver Pet Hospital.
