Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT

About the Role

Ross Bay Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative team of skilled professionals. While part of a larger network, this location maintains a genuine local community feel with mentorship and ongoing training opportunities built into the culture.

You'll take on the full scope of RVT work — from surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring to patient recovery and detailed record-keeping. New graduates with foundational knowledge of physical exams, patient assessment, catheter placement, radiology, and venipuncture are encouraged to apply; the practice actively supports RVTs preparing to write the VTNE. You'll deliver compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their families while juggling multiple priorities with strong problem-solving skills and excellent teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare for and assist with surgical procedures, including patient recovery
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and maintain patient safety protocols
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and radiography
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients and support pet parents through their pets' treatment
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians to manage multiple patient priorities
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development

Requirements

• Completion of a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program
• Strong knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, and anesthesia monitoring
• Experience or competency with catheter placement, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Genuine passion for companion animal care
