About the Role
Welland Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join their collaborative team in the heart of Ontario's Wine Country. This is a full-time position where you'll work alongside experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and client care staff who genuinely value communication, respect, and clinical excellence.
You'll assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures — managing diagnostic equipment, preparing patients and surgical instruments, and administering and monitoring medications. Beyond the clinical work, you'll build strong client relationships by demonstrating genuine care for pets and their owners, delivering exceptional customer service in a welcoming, family-oriented environment. The practice prioritizes flexible scheduling and work-life balance, so you can pursue interests beyond the clinic — whether that's exploring local wineries, enjoying the Fruit Belt's natural beauty, or simply having genuine downtime with family and friends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Operate diagnostic equipment and prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery
- Administer and monitor medications under veterinary supervision
- Build and maintain positive client relationships through compassionate care and exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with the team to maintain clinical excellence and a positive workplace culture
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or eligible to write the VTNE
- Completion of a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program
- Current registration in good standing with the provincial regulatory association
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine compassion for animals and clients
