Veterinary Assistant

About the Role

You'll be the bridge between our veterinary team and our clients—counseling and educating pet owners on medication dosage and purpose, home care, vaccination schedules, and preventative health strategies. Working under the direction of our veterinarians and RVTs, you'll suggest and explain laboratory procedures in a way that makes sense to clients, and you'll handle and care for animals with the gentleness and confidence that keeps them feeling safe and secure.

This is a replacement position offering genuine flexibility. Whether you're looking for part-time hours or full-time work, McEwen-Frontenac will work with you to build a schedule that fits your life.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on medication administration, home care instructions, and preventative healthcare under direction of veterinarians or RVTs
• Educate clients about vaccination requirements and explain the purpose and benefits of recommended treatments
• Assist with laboratory procedures and testing, clearly explaining what they involve and why they matter
• Greet, handle, and treat animals with compassion, creating a calm and secure environment
• Collaborate with the entire team to deliver high-quality, personalized patient care
