About the Role

Animal Medical Centre South (AMC South) is a busy, progressive practice looking for an Associate Veterinarian who thrives in collaborative, team-oriented environments. You'll work alongside experienced veterinarians, RVTs, and support staff who prioritize open communication, mentorship, and mutual support—plus they actually value humour and learning together.

The caseload is primarily small animal (cats and dogs, roughly 95% of cases), with occasional large animal work including horses, cows, and birds. You'll have exposure to routine exams and surgery through to therapeutic care, all delivered with a commitment to high-quality, compassionate medicine. The hospital is equipped with digital dental and full-body radiography, in-house laboratory and diagnostic equipment, and a team culture that genuinely supports professional growth.

This is a dynamic role in a busy clinic where your voice matters and your skills are valued every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients (primary focus)
• Handle occasional large animal cases as needed
• Perform routine exams, surgery, diagnostics, and therapeutic care
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff on patient care plans
• Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication and patient education
• Contribute to a team-focused culture centred on shared decision-making and mutual support

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• Eligible for veterinary licensing in Alberta
• Passion for compassionate patient care
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude
• Desire to educate and build lasting relationships with clients
