About the Role

Lockerby Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced associate veterinarian to join their Sudbury team. You'll focus on wellness, surgery, and dental cases, working with a team of experienced and passionate professionals. The practice is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment equipment to support the quality of care you deliver. You'll have exposure to a diverse range of cases and opportunities to collaborate across VetStrategy's network of 1,500 DVMs, with potential to work at other locations and expand your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive veterinary care across wellness exams, surgical procedures, and dental work
  • Conduct annual examinations, allergy testing, and dietary consultations
  • Perform non-invasive diagnostic testing and treatment recommendations
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients through effective communication and empathy
  • Work collaboratively with the team to manage a diverse caseload with professionalism and composure
  • Contribute to community-based initiatives and activities supported by VetStrategy

Requirements

  • 1+ years of veterinary experience (new graduates welcome)
  • Current veterinary licence valid in Ontario
  • Interest and experience in wellness, surgery, and dental care
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving veterinary practices and technologies
  • Strong ability to handle various cases and situations with composure and professionalism
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
  • Genuine empathy for animals and their owners
  • Team-oriented mindset with collaborative approach to practice
  • Rapid diagnostic and decision-making skills
