Newton Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary practice in beautiful Surrey, BC, actively building expertise in exotic animal medicine. You'll join a supportive team as an Associate Veterinarian with a special focus on avian, reptile, and small-mammal species—working with rabbits, snakes, birds, exotic reptiles, and other small animals that require specialized care and attention.

Whether you're already certified in exotic medicine, actively pursuing a certificate, or keen to start one, there's a clear pathway here. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care for exotic animals, including avian, reptile, and small-mammal species
- Manage general small animal medicine and surgery with a particular emphasis on exotic cases
- Mentor and coach veterinary students throughout their DVM journey
- Stay current with exotic animal medicine through conference attendance and professional networking
- Contribute to the practice's reputation for excellence in exotic veterinary care
Requirements
- Valid Canadian veterinary licence
- Confident and experienced in general small animal surgery and medicine
- Essential experience with exotic pets (rabbits, snakes, birds, reptiles, small rodents)
- Certificate in exotics, currently studying toward one, or commitment to pursuing a certificate program
- Passion for coaching and mentoring students
- Interest in attending conferences and networking with colleagues
