General Manager Veterinarian

About the Role

Are you an experienced emergency or referral veterinarian with a passion for leadership? Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is seeking a General Manager DVM to guide their team and drive both the clinical and operational excellence of this busy Halifax hospital. This is a full-time position where you'll directly influence the systems, processes, and workplace culture that make Coastal Care a rewarding environment for your colleagues.

The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience in emergency and referral medicine — whether as a board-certified Criticalist or Internist, an experienced ER DVM with management background, or someone who's successfully managed an emergency or referral hospital before. You'll collaborate with the wider P3 Veterinary Partners network while championing the clinical and operational environment at Coastal Care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Coastal Care team and foster a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture
• Guide clinical and operational systems, processes, and standards
• Support both clinical excellence and operational efficiency across the emergency and referral hospital
• Work with P3 Veterinary Partners leadership to align hospital goals with network strategy

Requirements

• DVM degree and valid veterinary licence in Nova Scotia (or eligibility to obtain)
• Demonstrated leadership experience in emergency and/or referral medicine
• Board certification (ACVIM Criticalist or Internist) preferred, or extensive ER experience with prior management background
• Strong communication and team-building skills
