About the Role
Mississauga-Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital is seeking a board-certified Medical Oncologist (or candidate nearing residency completion and eligible for board exams) to join a dynamic specialty team in Oakville, Ontario. This is a permanent, full-time position where you'll work alongside one other oncologist, collaborating with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, criticalists, surgeons, and internists in a newly renovated, 21,000-square-foot facility.

You'll have opportunities to teach referring veterinarians, provide continuing education, and mentor interns through a formal mentorship program. When you're off-shift, the hospital's 24-hour emergency and critical care service—staffed by twelve full- and part-time emergency veterinarians—ensures your patients receive seamless care.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced oncology care to small animal patients referred to the hospital
- Collaborate with specialist colleagues (cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, neurology, critical care, anaesthesia) on complex cases
- Teach and provide continuing education to referring veterinarians
- Mentor veterinary interns through formal mentorship opportunities
- Participate in case discussions and specialty team rounds
- Contribute to the hospital's research and learning initiatives
Requirements
- Board certification in Medical Oncology (DACVIM [Oncology]), or near completion of residency training with eligibility to sit for board exams
- Valid Canadian veterinary licence (Ontario)
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
