Registered Veterinary Technician

About the Role

Yaletown Animal Hospital is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Technician to become part of a fast-paced, collaborative team dedicated to high-quality small animal medicine. You'll work four 10-hour shifts per week (including one weekend shift), with schedules posted 2–8 weeks in advance and the flexibility to swap shifts with colleagues. This is a full-time position in a multi-doctor environment where clinical excellence and team culture are equally valued.

The practice offers hands-on exposure to advanced diagnostics, surgical support, anesthesia management, and critical care in a supportive setting designed for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced anesthesia support and monitoring during surgical and diagnostic procedures
• Provide expert surgical assistance and patient care throughout the patient journey
• Conduct dental procedures and radiography (including digital dental imaging)
• Support critical care and emergency stabilization
• Operate digital radiology and in-house laboratory equipment
• Maintain patient records and assist with laser therapy treatments
• Contribute to a positive team culture and client communication
• Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities

Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or equivalent credential
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (new graduates with exceptional work ethic considered)
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgery support, dentistry, critical care, and general RVT skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of animal care
