About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to help launch a surgical program at a growing emergency and referral hospital. You'll work alongside a newly hired Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist to develop specialty services from the ground up—a chance to influence clinical direction and establish best practices as the practice evolves into a premier referral centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the hospital's growing surgical service
  • Perform a wide range of surgical cases in two fully equipped surgical suites
  • Collaborate with the Internal Medicine Specialist and emergency team to drive clinical excellence
  • Help shape protocols and specialty services as the practice grows
  • Deliver high-standard emergency and referral surgical care using state-of-the-art equipment

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Current veterinary license in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Significant surgical experience and expertise
  • Leadership mindset—ability to build and grow a surgical program

Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley (AECFV) is an AAHA-accredited, 8,000 sq ft emergency and specialty hospital featuring two surgical suites, 64-slice CT, ultrasound, endoscope, in-house lab, and large blood bank. The practice is part of Ethos Veterinary Health, a network of over 140 specialty and emergency hospitals across North America, bringing together 1,500+ specialized veterinarians delivering care to nearly 2 million pets annually.
