Veterinarian

About the Role

Birch Dan Animal Hospital is looking for a veterinarian with 3–5 years of experience to provide comprehensive care to our animal patients. You'll work on-site in a supportive practice environment, handling a diverse range of cases from routine wellness visits to surgical procedures and emergency care.

This permanent, full-time position starts as soon as possible and offers a solid hourly rate of $60.05 with room for growth within an established practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose diseases and abnormal conditions in animals through physical examinations and laboratory testing
• Treat sick or injured animals using medication, surgical intervention, bone setting, and wound care
• Administer vaccinations and preventative treatments
• Counsel clients on animal nutrition, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene, and general care
• Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
• Deliver specialised services including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia
• Supervise animal health technologists and care workers

Requirements

• Degree in veterinary medicine (DVM)
• 3 to less than 5 years of professional veterinary experience
• Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification
• Valid licensure from provincial or territorial authorities
• Fluency in English
