About the Role

Birchmount Animal Hospital in Scarborough is looking for a Veterinarian to join their associate team. You'll take on soft tissue surgery, end-of-life care, dental procedures, and preventative medicine, while also guiding pet owners through their fur babies' health journeys. A big part of this role involves coaching junior veterinary technicians and students as they develop their skills, contributing to a culture of learning within the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform soft tissue surgical procedures, end-of-life procedures, and dental work
• Provide preventative care and treatment plans for Grade 1–2 cases and other patient presentations
• Educate and guide pet owners on ongoing care for their animals
• Coach and mentor veterinary students and junior RVTs/assistants
• Support team-based, collaborative medicine practices
• Maintain accurate medical records and manage multiple appointments effectively

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years post-graduation experience
• Valid veterinarian licence to practise in Canada (fully licensed from accredited school, or foreign-trained with completed certificate of qualification)
• Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, pet parents, and the community
• Ability to manage multiple appointments and adapt to varying patient needs
• Commitment to accurate medical record keeping
