About the Role

London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is seeking a full-time, board-certified or residency-trained Internal Medicine Specialist to join their dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to work 40 hours across Tuesday to Friday (with flexibility on which days you work), giving you genuine work-life balance in a collaborative referral environment.

You'll be working alongside emergency doctors and other specialists, managing complex internal medicine cases and building strong relationships with primary care veterinarians across the region. Your diagnostic skills and passion for patient care will be at the heart of what you do, backed by a supportive team culture that values collegiality and excellent client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist-level internal medicine diagnostics and treatment for referred cases
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians and other specialists in a multi-disciplinary referral setting
  • Develop and maintain relationships with primary care practices in the region
  • Contribute to a culture of collegial teamwork and knowledge-sharing
  • Deliver exemplary client communication and customer service
  • Stay current with internal medicine literature and best practices

Requirements

  • Completed formal residency program in internal medicine
  • Board-certified OR eligible to sit the ACVIM board examination in Internal Medicine
  • Valid Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and Canadian veterinary licence
  • Strong diagnostic skills and genuine passion for patient care
  • Positive, collegial personality with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining strong organizational focus
