Work Schedule

No on-call or emergency after-hours requirements. Four-day work week with no weekends.

About the Role

Bayridge Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian for a full-time position that prioritizes both clinical excellence and genuine work-life balance. This is a four-day-per-week role with no weekend or on-call commitments—the kind of schedule that lets you actually have a life outside the clinic.

You'll be working alongside 3–4 veterinarians daily in a practice that genuinely values collaboration. Case discussions and shared learning aren't afterthoughts here—they're woven into how the team operates. You'll have access to a modern, well-equipped facility with digital radiography, ultrasound, remote specialist consultation, a full surgical suite, on-site laboratory, and a comprehensive dental program. The practice uses Covet AI for medical documentation, freeing up your time for what matters: patient care and connecting with colleagues.

This is an ideal fit if you're seeking stability within a collaborative team environment, want to work across a broad range of medical and surgical cases in general practice, and are ready to step away from the burnout cycle that defines so many associate roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality medical and surgical care for companion animals (dogs and cats)
  • Perform routine and advanced surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, and oncological procedures
  • Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and procedures
  • Utilize on-site diagnostic tools (laboratory, radiography, ultrasound) to inform clinical decisions
  • Engage in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving with the veterinary team
  • Support a team-based medicine approach where knowledge sharing is encouraged
  • Deliver excellent client communication and patient care

Requirements

  • Licensed DVM (or eligible for full licensure) in Ontario
  • Strong communicator who values collaborative, team-based practice
  • Interest in general practice with exposure to varied surgical and medical cases
  • Genuine passion for providing excellent patient and client care

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $110,000–$160,000 commensurate with experience
  • Health and dental benefits
  • Generous paid time off
  • RRSP matching
  • Support for continued learning and professional development
