Associate Veterinarian
Love emergency surgery? Join a newly rebuilt ER team in Richmond Hill that actually schedules shifts in advance so you can have a life outside the clinic.
Work Schedule
Scheduled shifts (10–14 per month) posted in advance; not on-call standby duty.
About the Role
This is your chance to join an emergency veterinary clinic undergoing an exciting transformation. Under new medical leadership, Vaughan-Richmond Hill Veterinary Emergency Clinic is expanding from after-hours emergency care to 24/7/365 operations—and they're building a team that genuinely values both clinical excellence and your well-being.
If you're an ER veterinarian who loves surgery, this role offers something rare: a balanced caseload of medical and surgical cases where you'll perform your own procedures, with mentorship available if you're developing your surgical skills. You'll work 10–14 shifts per month with schedules posted in advance, meaning you can actually plan your life around your work rather than the other way around. The clinic bridges general practice and specialist referral care, accepting transfers from surrounding practices while running a fully functional emergency department with affordable all-inclusive surgical packages.
You'll have access to a yearly Care Fund—a discretionary allotment for each DVM to support patients in need. It's the kind of thing that reminds you why you became a veterinarian.

About the Practice
Vaughan-Richmond Hill Veterinary Emergency Clinic has served the Richmond Hill and surrounding communities since 2009 as an after-hours emergency veterinary clinic. Now operating under new management and mentorship from a dedicated medical director, the clinic is expanding to provide 24/7/365 emergency care. The clinic is part of VetStrategy, a 100% Canadian-operated network of veterinary practices with locations across the country. VetStrategy is built on three core promises: being a great place to work, delivering world-class veterinary care locally, and being a force for good in the community. The organisation prioritises employee well-being, embraces innovation, and fosters genuine collaboration—values embedded in everything from how they schedule shifts to how they empower each DVM with discretionary spending through their Care Fund.
