About the Role

Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic (CTVRC) is a premier specialty and emergency centre seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian for locum shifts. This is your opportunity to practise high-level emergency medicine in a state-of-the-art facility with access to advanced diagnostics and a collaborative team of specialists.

You'll manage both primary and referral emergencies, plus care for in-hospital referral patients. The clinic is equipped with onsite ultrasound, digital radiography, CT, surgical suites, and state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. You'll work with highly specialized and experienced veterinarians and technicians who are genuinely invested in clinical excellence and supporting their colleagues.

CTVRC is a 24-hour service-driven facility serving small animals across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding region, with specializations in emergency medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, ophthalmology, anesthesia, and oncology.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical and surgical care for primary and referral cases
• Manage care of in-hospital referral patients
• Work collaboratively with specialists and experienced emergency veterinarians
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment (ultrasound, radiography, CT) as needed for patient care
• Maintain rigorous clinical judgment and provide excellent customer service to clients and referring veterinarians

Requirements

• Strong knowledge base in emergency medicine
• Licensed to practise in Ontario (full, unrestricted licence)
• Progressive attitude and team-oriented approach
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent customer service orientation
• No immigration support or licence restrictions (must hold full, unrestricted Ontario veterinary licence)
