About the Role
Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital's Internal Medicine Department is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist to join a collaborative team. You'll work directly with the Internal Medicine specialist, providing high-quality patient care to animals requiring specialized medical attention. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Internal Medicine specialist in providing patient care and diagnostics
- Perform surgical preparation, assist with procedures, and manage patient recovery
- Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, catheter placement, and venipuncture
- Monitor anesthesia and handle radiology and pharmacy tasks
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and communicate with pet parents
- Manage multiple priorities and problem-solve independently or collaboratively
- Contribute to a positive team environment with strong interpersonal skills
Requirements
- Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program (eligible to register as RVT)
- Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Compassionate approach to patient and client care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to seek clarification when needed
- Genuine passion for companion animal medicine
