Registered Veterinary Technologist, Internal Medicine

About the Role

Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital's Internal Medicine Department is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist to join a collaborative team. You'll work directly with the Internal Medicine specialist, providing high-quality patient care to animals requiring specialized medical attention. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Internal Medicine specialist in providing patient care and diagnostics
• Perform surgical preparation, assist with procedures, and manage patient recovery
• Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, catheter placement, and venipuncture
• Monitor anesthesia and handle radiology and pharmacy tasks
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and communicate with pet parents
• Manage multiple priorities and problem-solve independently or collaboratively
• Contribute to a positive team environment with strong interpersonal skills

Requirements

• Completion of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program (eligible to register as RVT)
• Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Compassionate approach to patient and client care
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to seek clarification when needed
• Genuine passion for companion animal medicine
