West Kelowna's stunning lakeside setting meets serious medicine at Carrington Animal Hospital. Work-life balance isn't a slogan here—it's built into how the team operates, with access to hiking, skiing, and genuine downtime that actually sticks.

About the Role

If you're drawn to a practice where the setting is as compelling as the medicine, Carrington Animal Hospital offers something rare: a West Kelowna location that genuinely supports the lifestyle you want to live. Imagine finishing your shift and heading to nearby beaches, hiking trails, or mountain biking—or, come winter, a quick run to Black Mountain for skiing. This isn't fantasy; it's the lived reality for the team here.

You'll be the primary clinician for small animal cases, handling routine exams through complex diagnostics, surgical and dental procedures, and emergency situations. Working alongside experienced RVTs and support staff, you'll make independent clinical decisions, mentor your team, and contribute to a collaborative environment where communication and respect drive everything. The practice values both medical excellence and emotional intelligence—meaning you're expected to deliver strong medicine while supporting your colleagues and clients thoughtfully.

Carrington offers flexibility on scheduling. Whether you prefer full-time commitment or part-time work, the team will work with you to find an arrangement that fits your life. You'll have access to continuing education funding and formal mentorship to grow your surgical, medical, and leadership capabilities.

About the Practice

Carrington Animal Hospital is part of VetCare, a proudly Canadian organization with roots in Vancouver that now operates practice teams across the country. VetCare blends the personal touch of local clinics with the collective resources of a broader veterinary community—think mentorship, operational support, and collaborative learning without losing the neighborhood feel.

Carrington's West Kelowna location is a genuine lifestyle draw: walking distance from the beach, surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains, with world-class hiking, biking, boating, and skiing nearby. The summer weather is exceptional, and winter brings excellent snow sports. The area also boasts excellent restaurants with patios and numerous wineries, many within walking distance. The practice has intentionally built this location and culture to offer real work-life balance—not as a recruitment tagline, but as an operating principle the team lives daily.
