Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist

About the Role

Fairfield Animal Hospital is looking for a residency-trained or board-certified Veterinary Internist to join their fast-paced 24-hour emergency facility in Kelowna, BC. This is your chance to practice at a high level while building specialty services that genuinely matter to the community. You'll be the first dedicated Internist on a team of 9 emergency DVMs, giving you the opportunity to shape how internal medicine is delivered across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide internal medicine consultation and treatment within the emergency hospital setting
• Lead the development and growth of specialty internal medicine services
• Collaborate with the emergency team to manage complex cases
• Contribute to clinical decision-making and mentorship of ER DVMs
• Help establish internal medicine protocols and best practices

Requirements

• ACVIM board certification or residency training in internal medicine
• Current veterinary licence in British Columbia (or ability to obtain)
• Strong clinical skills and commitment to emergency/specialty medicine
