Work Schedule

Flexible casual/part-time arrangement with hybrid clinical and teleradiology work; not a traditional on-call role.

About the Role

Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is seeking a board-certified radiologist to join a dynamic small animal specialty, referral, and 24-hour emergency practice in Calgary. If you're nearing the end of your residency training and awaiting board exams, you're welcome to apply as well.

This is a uniquely flexible role that allows you to balance in-person clinical radiology work with teleradiology, giving you control over your schedule. Whether you're looking for casual or part-time arrangements, there's room to customize how you work here. The practice has invested heavily in state-of-the-art imaging: digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT scanner, and plans for on-site MRI expansion. With over 75 referring hospitals across a 1.2 million-person trade area (including 20 partner clinics in Calgary), you'll work with varied, interesting cases and collaborate with specialists in critical care, dermatology, oncology, surgery, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.

The hospital culture emphasizes teamwork and camaraderie, and you'll also have the opportunity to mentor interns and veterinary students in partnership with the University of Calgary School of Veterinary Medicine. Calgary offers an exceptional quality of life: outdoor activities including hiking in the nearby Rocky Mountains, world-class skiing at Lake Louise and Banff, vibrant dining and restaurant scene, cultural attractions, and a welcoming community.
