Island City Animal Hospital is seeking a Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead their collaborative practice in Brockville, Ontario. Whether you're an experienced leader or a seasoned Associate ready to step into leadership, this role offers a genuine opportunity to shape and grow a practice within a supportive, community-focused environment.

As Managing Veterinarian, you'll work closely with the Hospital Manager as part of the Hospital Leadership Team (HLT). Your responsibilities will include overseeing financial performance, general hospital operations, and regulatory compliance, with guidance from divisional leadership. You'll play a pivotal role in creating a culture of teamwork and servant leadership—a place where RVTs are empowered to use their full skills, CSRs deliver top-tier client service, and the whole team feels like home.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a skilled veterinary team in a collaborative, progressive medicine environment
• Oversee financial performance and hospital operations alongside the Hospital Manager
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards across the practice
• Foster a culture of teamwork and servant leadership that supports staff development
• Contribute to clinical case management and high-quality patient care delivery

Requirements

• Current DVM licence with eligibility to practice in Ontario
• Experience in small animal medicine (experienced Associate or previous leadership experience preferred)
• Demonstrated commitment to progressive, high-quality veterinary care
• Strong leadership and communication skills with passion for mentorship
• Willingness to collaborate with hospital management on operational and financial oversight
