About the Role

Guardian Veterinary Centre, a premier companion animal specialty and emergency facility in Edmonton, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Oncologist to lead the expansion of its oncology programme. You'll work in a newly expanded 8,000 square-foot oncology facility featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment. The hospital's 20,000-square-foot main facility includes 24-hour staffing, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, arthroscopy, critical care ventilators, and an on-site digital cytology analyzer for rapid turnaround on pathology reports. An MRI is being installed this year. You'll be part of a highly skilled team of registered veterinary technologists who are utilised to their fullest potential and genuinely eager to support your cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation therapy consultation and treatment to companion animals referred from across Northern Alberta, Northern BC, Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut
• Lead the newly expanded oncology department and mentor the specialist team
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, internists, and emergency veterinarians to provide integrated patient care
• Utilise state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and newly installed MRI
• Work alongside highly skilled registered veterinary technologists committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes
• Contribute to a culture of respect, compassion, and evidence-based medicine

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
• Board certification in veterinary oncology (ACVIM) or eligibility to sit board examinations
• Current veterinary licence to practise in Alberta
• Commitment to collaborative practice and continuous professional development
