Practice Manager

As Practice Manager with VetCare's Greater Vancouver community, you'll be the heart of your clinic — creating a collaborative environment where your team thrives and clients feel the difference.

Your day-to-day will blend strategic leadership with hands-on problem-solving. You'll manage team schedules, conduct hiring and onboarding for locum DVMs and RVTs, lead annual reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. On the operations side, you'll oversee inventory, budgets, and financial health while ensuring every client interaction reflects your practice's commitment to excellence. You'll also build the practice's social media presence, celebrating your team's wins and the difference you're making together.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a collaborative team environment that prioritizes growth, engagement, and exceptional client experiences
• Manage team schedules, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback to support professional development
• Source, interview, and onboard locum DVMs and RVTs to maintain staffing needs
• Oversee inventory management, budgets, and all financial operations to keep the practice financially healthy
• Resolve operational challenges and client concerns with empathy and swift problem-solving
• Manage HR functions including recruitment support, team engagement, and conflict resolution
• Develop and implement social media content celebrating team achievements and practice initiatives
• Serve as a strategic partner in guiding the practice through growth and operational improvements

Requirements

• 2–3 years of team management or supervisory experience
• HR management experience and strong conflict resolution skills
• Financial and budget management experience
• Veterinary industry knowledge and/or project management experience (recommended)
• Veterinary software systems knowledge (an asset)
• Clinical veterinary experience (a bonus that sets you apart)
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
• Excellent communication and feedback skills
• Experience with change management
• Flexibility to work varied hours to meet team needs
