About the Role
Celtic Creatures Vet Clinic is looking for an organized, people-focused receptionist to be the front-line welcome for pet owners and their animals. You'll work in a dynamic veterinary setting where no two days are quite the same — greeting clients, managing phone systems, scheduling appointments, and handling the administrative backbone that keeps the clinic running smoothly. This is a full-time position (30–40 hours per week) with flexible scheduling across morning, day, and evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and animals, directing them to appropriate service areas
- Answer phones, operate switchboard systems, and relay messages professionally
- Schedule and confirm veterinary appointments using electronic scheduling software
- Obtain and process client information to facilitate quality customer service
- Maintain electronic medical records accurately and securely
- Handle billing tasks including invoicing, payment processing, and charge calculations
- Manage office supplies ordering and maintain work records and logs
- Perform clerical duties including filing, sorting, and distributing mail
- Assist with emergency services as needed
- Support animal handling tasks within scope of role
Requirements
- College diploma or equivalent certification from a 1–2 year program (or equivalent work experience)
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and electronic schedulers
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Windows, and email
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines
- Reliable, organized team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Own transportation required
- Criminal record check required
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Prior experience in a veterinary or customer service field is an asset
