Join Richmond Animal Hospital's collaborative team where work-life balance isn't just promised—it's built into flexible schedules and a supportive culture. 3–7 years of experience? Let's talk.

About the Role

Richmond Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinarian to join a tight-knit team that genuinely values both clinical excellence and work-life balance. You'll be delivering comprehensive small animal medicine and surgery in a collaborative environment where your expertise is respected and your schedule is flexible. Whether you're drawn to part-time or full-time work, this practice adapts to what works for you.

You'll take on primary clinical responsibilities—managing cases independently, performing surgical and dental procedures, and responding confidently to emergencies. Your role extends beyond the exam room: mentorship, whether giving or receiving, is woven into the culture here. The team (experienced RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and Client Care Reception staff) works together with genuine respect and clear communication, creating the kind of environment where you actually want to show up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care across medical and surgical cases, including dental procedures
  • Make independent clinical decisions and manage complex cases with confidence
  • Respond to emergencies and deliver exceptional veterinary medicine
  • Collaborate with RVTs and support staff to maintain high standards of patient care
  • Contribute to team leadership and mentorship (giving or receiving based on your goals)
  • Support a culture of communication, respect, and clinical excellence

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of veterinary experience (preferred)
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a Private Practice licence in British Columbia at time of application
  • Proficiency in surgical and dental procedures
  • Demonstrated medical expertise and ability to manage complex cases independently
  • Strong emotional intelligence and teamwork skills

Benefits

  • Guaranteed base salary plus production (no negative accrual)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance (single or family coverage)
  • Long-term disability insurance (employee contribution)
  • Paid veterinary licensing dues and BC provincial membership fees
  • Professional liability and malpractice insurance
  • Professional development allowance for continuing education
  • VIN membership
  • Veterinary AI scribe membership (Fydo DX)
  • Uniform allowance
  • Flexible schedule (part-time or full-time options)
  • Vacation and paid time off
  • Voluntary RRSP/TFSA contribution plan
  • 24/7 employee assistance program (mental health, relationship, financial, nutritional support)
  • Access to VetCare's veterinary learning platform
  • Community-wide social platform and networking with other DVMs
  • Free or discounted on-site continuing education
  • Generous referral program
  • Recognition programs and annual performance reviews
  • Employee pet discounts
  • Pet bereavement day
  • Paid sick days
