Join a multi-DVM team in Northeastern Ontario where you'll have full autonomy to practice your way—weekends off, modern equipment, and a supportive low-turnover team that actually prioritizes work-life balance.

About the Role

Chelmsford Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinarian to join their growing practice in the charming community of Chelmsford within Greater Sudbury. This is an opportunity to practice medicine with genuine autonomy—you choose your focus, whether that's appointments, surgery, dentistry, or a balanced mix—all supported by a skilled, highly involved team with impressive staff retention.

The practice prioritizes work-life balance with a flexible schedule and weekends consistently off, giving you real time to enjoy what Northeastern Ontario offers: easy access to lakes, trails, and outdoor adventures in a setting that blends small-town friendliness with city conveniences.

This role is available on both full-time and part-time bases, so you can structure your work around your life, not the other way around.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals in a full-service practice setting
  • Work autonomously to focus on the areas of practice you enjoy most—whether general medicine, surgery, dentistry, or a combination
  • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment including laser therapy, digital radiology (with dental capabilities), ultrasound with cardiac capabilities, and IDEXX in-house laboratory
  • Collaborate with a skilled RVT team and support staff committed to high-quality patient care
  • Participate in a multi-DVM practice environment with shared decision-making and support

Requirements

  • Valid veterinary licence to practice in Ontario (DVM or equivalent)
  • Passion for providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary medicine
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $100,000–$150,000 CAD annually
  • Bonus potential
  • Health and dental benefits
  • Generous vacation
  • Support for continued learning and professional development
  • Relocation assistance for out-of-province applicants
  • Flexible scheduling with weekends off
