About the Role

You'll be joining Crossroads Veterinary Clinic as an Associate Veterinarian in Thunder Bay, a scenic lakeside community known for outdoor recreation and natural beauty. This is a full-time position offering genuine work-life balance with predictable hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, plus Saturday mornings 8:30 AM–3 PM, with Sundays off. You'll work alongside experienced veterinarians in a newly renovated 5,000-square-foot facility, handling a diverse caseload that includes emergency cases, routine medical and surgical procedures, dentistry, behavioural consultations, chiropractic and acupuncture services.

The practice emphasizes best-practice medicine with modern technology and encourages a personalized, one-to-one approach with clients. You'll have access to a network of over 1,500 DVMs across VetStrategy and opportunities for professional development in a "country-feel" environment that prioritizes both animal welfare and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical examinations and deliver preventive, medical, surgical, and dental care
  • Manage both routine consultations and emergency cases with clinical judgment and compassion
  • Provide specialized services including behavioural counselling, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and wound repair
  • Use modern diagnostic equipment (digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, surgical monitors, laser therapy) to inform clinical decisions
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through clear communication and education
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to maintain high standards of patient care and workplace culture

Requirements

  • Licensed (or eligible to become licensed) to practise veterinary medicine in Ontario
  • Genuine passion for veterinary medicine and animal welfare
  • Enthusiasm, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
  • Desire to educate clients and build long-term professional relationships
