Locum Veterinarian
North Bay's Lake Nipissing views, year-round outdoor adventures, and a supportive team that actually values work-life balance — this locum role offers flexibility and community.
About the Role
Blue Sky Animal Hospital is seeking a Locum Veterinarian to join their collaborative North Bay team on a flexible, part-time basis (4–5 days per week). You'll work alongside an experienced DVM and three RVTs who share a commitment to compassionate, high-quality medicine. This is an opportunity to practice at your own pace in a supportive environment where clinical excellence and mutual respect are core values.
North Bay itself is a lifestyle draw — nestled on the shores of Lake Nipissing, it's the Gateway to the North, blending small-town charm with year-round outdoor adventures. Hike and ski in winter, enjoy lakefront activities in summer, explore diverse restaurants and cultural venues like the Capitol Centre performing arts theatre, and catch OHL games with the North Bay Battalion. With easy access to the GTA, you get the best of both worlds.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical veterinary care and diagnostics with a focus on high-quality, compassionate medicine
- Work collaboratively with the existing DVM and RVT team to support patient care and practice operations
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence and servant leadership in patient and client interactions
- Maintain professional standards and contribute to the supportive, knowledge-sharing culture of the practice
Requirements
- Current or eligible for a full General Veterinary License in Ontario
- DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine
Benefits
- Hourly pay rate: $85–$120/hr
- Flexible schedule (part-time, 4–5 days per week)
- Networking and collaboration opportunities with veterinarians across VetCare's network of practices
- Access to continued investments in advanced diagnostics and modern facilities
