About the Role

Wingrove Veterinary Services is seeking a confident, people-focused Practice Manager ready to make a meaningful impact. Known for exceptional patient care and advanced medicine and surgery, the practice is building on its compassionate foundation and looking for a leader who thrives in guiding teams through growth and change.

As Practice Manager, you'll be the driving force behind a vibrant veterinary team, creating a collaborative environment that fosters growth, engagement, and exceptional client experiences. Your day-to-day involves striving for operational excellence, managing team schedules, and supporting talent acquisition by sourcing locum DVMs and RVTs as needed. You'll provide onboarding and coaching to new team members, conduct annual reviews, and offer feedback and support to help your team grow. You'll also manage inventory, budgets, and all financial aspects of the practice, plus bring the practice to life on social media by celebrating the great work your team is doing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and lead a collaborative team environment that prioritizes growth, engagement, and exceptional client experiences
  • Use empathy and problem-solving to resolve issues swiftly and ensure smooth operations
  • Manage team schedules and support talent acquisition efforts by sourcing locums and recruiting RVTs and veterinarians
  • Provide onboarding, coaching, annual reviews, and ongoing feedback to team members
  • Manage inventory, budgets, and all financial aspects of the practice
  • Lead social media efforts to celebrate team achievements and practice initiatives
  • Drive operational excellence and maintain accountability across all practice areas

Requirements

  • Team Management/Supervisory Experience: 2–3 years minimum
  • HR Management Experience: Essential for fostering a thriving, engaged team
  • Financial/Budget Management Experience
  • Strong Business Acumen: Think strategically and drive success
  • Veterinary Industry Knowledge and/or Project Management Experience: Recommended
  • Veterinary Software Systems Knowledge: An asset
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, concise, and inspiring communication
  • Change Management Experience: Guide teams through growth and transformation
  • Feedback and Conflict Resolution Skills: Comfortable providing support and navigating challenges with professionalism
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours to meet team needs
  • Clinical Experience: A bonus that will set you apart
