About the Role

Calgary North Animal Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Service is seeking a veterinarian to join a team of highly engaged and professional associates. This is your opportunity to work in a supportive environment where you'll collaborate closely with pet owners and the care team to deliver excellent medicine to small companion animals—canines, felines, and pocket pets.

You'll perform a range of procedures including physical examinations, immunizations, and surgeries while operating various medical equipment with confidence. The practice emphasizes team-based medicine and welcomes veterinarians who are passionate about mentoring student veterinary professionals during seasonal placements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical care for multiple small companion animal cases throughout each shift
• Perform physical examinations, immunizations, and surgical procedures
• Operate medical equipment with proficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with the veterinary team and support staff to ensure quality patient care
• Work in a team-based medicine environment focused on pet owner collaboration
• Coach and mentor student veterinary professionals (seasonal)

Requirements

• Valid DVM degree from an accredited university, with full Alberta licensure eligibility
• Ability to manage multiple cases for small companion animals throughout the shift
• Commitment to team-based medicine practices
• Strong interpersonal skills when working with colleagues, pet parents, and the community
• Passion for coaching and mentoring student veterinary professionals
