About the Role
Blue Sky Animal Hospital is welcoming an experienced Veterinarian (DVM) to their growing team in North Bay. This is a full-time position (4–5 days per week), offering the flexibility to adjust your schedule based on your needs. You'll work alongside 3 RVTs in a practice that's been serving the community for over 20 years, delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine in a collaborative, knowledgeable environment.
North Bay sits on the shores of Lake Nipissing — the Gateway to the North. Beyond the practice walls, you'll find year-round outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, and lakefront adventures. The city has a vibrant cultural side too: diverse restaurants, music and food festivals, the Capitol Centre performing arts theatre, and the North Bay Battalion (OHL). Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care and medical expertise across a range of small animal cases
- Perform surgical and dental procedures with confidence and proficiency
- Manage complex cases and respond effectively to emergencies
- Make independent clinical decisions and demonstrate strong medical judgment
- Mentor and collaborate with the RVT team, contributing to a supportive workplace culture
- Deliver exceptional veterinary medicine guided by high standards of care
Requirements
- 3–7 years of veterinary experience
- Hold or be eligible to hold a full General Veterinary License in Ontario at the time of application
- Proficiency in surgical and dental procedures
- Ability to manage complex cases independently and respond to emergencies
- Strong medical expertise and emotional intelligence
