About the Role
Amherst Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their busy, progressive small animal practice in Vancouver's Kitsilano/Point Grey neighbourhood. This is your chance to work alongside experienced RVTs and veterinarians in a clinic that's been serving the community with excellence since 1987.
You'll counsel and educate clients on medication dosage and purpose, home care instructions, vaccination requirements, and preventative health strategies—all under the guidance of veterinarians and RVTs. You'll collaborate with the team to suggest and explain laboratory procedures, greet animals with care, and handle them in ways that keep them feeling safe and secure. Weekend coverage is part of this role, with Saturday availability required. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced environment where your reliability, multitasking ability, and genuine compassion for animals truly matter.
