About the Role
North Vancouver Pet Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to become part of a tight-knit, collaborative team. You'll counsel and educate clients on medication dosages, home care instructions, vaccination requirements, and preventative health measures—always under the guidance of veterinarians and RVTs. You'll work alongside the team to suggest and explain diagnostic procedures, handle and treat animals with care, and create a calm environment where pets feel secure and supported.
This is a part-time role offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Whether you're balancing other commitments or starting your veterinary career, the practice works with you to find a schedule that works.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel and educate clients on medication administration, home care protocols, vaccination schedules, and preventative health recommendations
- Assist veterinarians and RVTs in explaining laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing to clients
- Greet, handle, and treat animals in ways that promote a safe, secure environment
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful practice culture that prioritizes clinical excellence
Requirements
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, RVTs, and support staff
