Associate Veterinarian – Mentorship-Focused Role
Ready to shape the next generation of veterinarians? This Regina practice is looking for an experienced DVM to mentor newer team members while enjoying primarily daytime hours and meaningful clinical work.
Work Schedule
Primarily daytime hours with scheduling flexibility; no on-call requirement mentioned
About the Role
You've built a strong veterinary career—now channel that expertise into mentoring the next wave of DVMs. South Saskatchewan Animal Hospital, an AAHA-accredited GP/ER hybrid clinic, is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to lead mentorship and professional development for newer team members. This role balances clinical work with a consultative focus, letting you guide less experienced veterinarians through cases and career growth while helping shape onboarding systems that strengthen the entire team.
You'll enjoy primarily daytime hours with scheduling flexibility (full-time or part-time options available), and the opportunity to work remotely when appropriate. The hospital is modern and well-equipped with ultrasound, CT, extensive in-house laboratory capabilities, and more—giving you the clinical tools to support both your own cases and your mentees' learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mentorship and professional development of less experienced veterinarians on an ongoing basis
- Design and refine onboarding plans for new DVMs, early-career veterinarians, and supervised-license holders
- Provide clinical oversight and case support with a consultative approach rather than appointment-heavy days

- Help coordinate communication and workflow between DVMs and support staff
Requirements
- DVM with a minimum of 3 years of full licensure in Saskatchewan
- Strong mentorship skills and genuine interest in developing other veterinarians
- Experience or enthusiasm for building onboarding systems and coaching new graduates, early-career, and supervised-license DVMs
Benefits
- Competitive compensation package
- Health and dental benefits
- RRSP matching
- Continuing education allowance
- Licensing fees covered
- VIN membership
- Uniform allowance
- Paid vacation and sick days
