Equine Surgeon
Join a surgical referral powerhouse in Alberta where you'll tackle diverse cases—from arthroscopy to complex colic—while thriving in a genuinely collaborative, supportive team culture.
About the Role
Delaney Veterinary Services is building its surgical team and looking for an experienced equine surgeon ready to make an impact. You'll work across a broad range of cases—elective and emergency surgeries, arthroscopic procedures, colic management, and lameness diagnosis—serving everyone from high-performance competition horses to beloved backyard retirees across central and northern Alberta and British Columbia.
This is a referral hospital where collaboration is genuinely embedded in the culture. You'll consult on complex cases with surrounding veterinary practices, tap into a global network of specialists through Altano Academy exchange groups and virtual CE events, and be part of a close-knit team that actually enjoys working together. Growth and mentorship matter here—you'll advance your expertise in equine surgery and sports medicine while making a real difference in horses' lives and their owners' success.
Alberta itself is a draw: think mountain adventures, northern lights viewing, glacier walks, frozen waterfall climbing, dog sledding, and world-class skiing. Edmonton (Canada's capital) offers 50+ festivals, the continent's largest urban park, a vibrant culinary scene, museums, cultural attractions, and Canada's biggest sports and entertainment district. You get nature and culture colliding in one place.
