About the Role
Foster Park Animal Hospital is looking for a dedicated part-time Registered Veterinary Technician to become part of a larger, supportive network of veterinary professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations, patient assessments, and assist with diagnostic procedures including radiology and venipuncture
- Place catheters and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery, assist during procedures, and provide post-operative recovery care
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients and support their families throughout treatment
- Manage pharmacy tasks and medication administration
- Juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and animal welfare
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with pet parents
- Problem-solve clinical situations and ask clarifying questions when needed
Requirements
- Completed Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program
- Technical knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
- Experience with or strong understanding of surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with colleagues and pet parents alike
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve independently
- Genuine passion for companion animal care and commitment to ongoing learning
