Veterinary Technician

About the Role

Foster Park Animal Hospital is looking for a dedicated part-time Registered Veterinary Technician to become part of a larger, supportive network of veterinary professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations, patient assessments, and assist with diagnostic procedures including radiology and venipuncture
• Place catheters and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery, assist during procedures, and provide post-operative recovery care
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients and support their families throughout treatment
• Manage pharmacy tasks and medication administration
• Juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and animal welfare
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with pet parents
• Problem-solve clinical situations and ask clarifying questions when needed

Requirements

• Completed Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program
• Technical knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
• Experience with or strong understanding of surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient records
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with colleagues and pet parents alike
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve independently
• Genuine passion for companion animal care and commitment to ongoing learning
