Client Care Specialist

About the Role

Amherst Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal practice in the heart of Kitsilano/Point Grey, serving Vancouver's pet-loving community since 1987. As their Client Care Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for clients and their furry family members — greeting them warmly, managing appointment bookings, fielding calls with care, and handling the administrative backbone that keeps the clinic running smoothly.

This role blends genuine client interaction with behind-the-scenes office work. You'll build lasting relationships by demonstrating authentic compassion toward both clients and their pets, providing clear information about services, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The practice values team communication and respect, so you'll work alongside experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and other client care staff in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients in a friendly, warm manner, setting a positive tone for their visit
• Answer incoming calls professionally, screen requests, book appointments, and take detailed messages
• Provide knowledgeable, non-medical information to clients about practice services and policies
• Handle administrative tasks: receiving and sorting mail, drafting correspondence, completing reports and document requests
• Demonstrate compassion and respect in all client interactions
• Multitask effectively in a busy, progressive clinic setting
• Maintain reliability and strong work ethic in supporting the clinical team

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in animal husbandry or animal care environments
• Strong customer service skills with genuine compassion for animals
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliability and professional work ethic
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada (no sponsorship required)
