Work Schedule
Shared on-call duties required; evenings and weekends expected as part of team rotation
About the Role
You'll be joining a well-established, progressive mixed animal practice that genuinely values both companion animal and large animal medicine. This is a full-time permanent role in a busy, supportive team environment where you'll have real exposure to diverse cases and meaningful opportunity to develop confidence across species. The clinic is modern, well-equipped, and focused on thorough in-house diagnostics and practical, client-centred care.
What sets this opportunity apart is the structured mentorship available within the wider independent veterinary partnership network. Whether you're newer to mixed practice or an experienced practitioner, you'll have access to clinical support in bovine and equine medicine, peer collaboration, and ongoing professional development—all while building long-term client relationships in a high-demand area.
Peace River itself is a vibrant northern Alberta community of around 7,000 people nestled in a stunning river valley landscape. For vets who value open space, outdoor living, and strong community ties, the lifestyle here is genuinely hard to replicate in major cities. You'll enjoy more affordable housing than in larger Alberta centres, year-round outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing and winter sports, and a genuine sense of belonging in a close-knit, welcoming community.
