Dream of rural Nova Scotia? Join a 50-year-old practice that's named Best in Canada — where you build lifelong client relationships and actually have a fulfilling life outside work.

About the Role

This is someone's dream calling. Imagine building a career in the rolling hills of rural Nova Scotia, where you turn clients into friends and continue a tradition that's been growing relationships for over 50 years. Fundy Vets named Best Practice in Canada by the CVMA in 2022 is looking for two small animal DVMs to join their team—at Fundy Truro and Fundy Shubenacadie. Whether you're a seasoned veterinarian or fresh out of school, you'll be supported in a collaborative, genuinely friendly environment where continuing education and professional development are real priorities.

The practice is open to both full-time and part-time arrangements with the right candidates. What matters most is finding vets who share their values, deliver exceptional care, and—crucially—want to enjoy a fulfilling life outside the clinic. This is a place where work-life balance isn't just talked about; it's lived.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with clients through active listening, empathy, and thorough information gathering
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostic testing, and medical, surgical, and dental procedures to the highest standard
  • Discuss diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, and nutrition with clients in clear, compassionate terms
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate client and patient medical records
  • Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and best practices
  • Represent the practice positively within the community

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice in Canada
  • Commitment to practising the highest standards of medicine and veterinary ethics

Benefits

The posting does not specify benefits, but interested candidates are encouraged to contact the practice directly to discuss compensation, professional development support, and other offerings.

About the Practice

Fundy Vets is one of the largest veterinary services in Atlantic Canada, serving cats, dogs, and their families across multiple locations. Recognized as Best Practice in Canada by the CVMA in 2022, the practice is built on a foundation of exceptional client care and long-term relationship building that spans over 50 years.

Owned and operated within the NVA Canada network, Fundy Vets combines the resources and support of a larger organization with the personal touch and community focus of a regional practice. The team invests genuinely in continuing education, professional growth, and creating an environment where veterinarians can thrive both professionally and personally.
