Clinical Teacher - Internal Medicine
Shape the next generation of veterinarians while practising cutting-edge internal medicine at Quebec's premier teaching hospital. ACVIM board-certified specialists only.
Work Schedule
Evening and weekend on-call duties as scheduled by the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (CHUV).
About the Role
The Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV) at Université de Montréal is seeking an ACVIM board-certified veterinarian to join its renowned teaching hospital as a Clinical Teacher in Internal Medicine. Based in the Education District of Saint-Hyacinthe, you'll work within the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire (CHUV)—a leading academic veterinary centre that receives complex referral cases primarily from the greater Montreal region. This is your chance to make a direct impact on veterinary education while maintaining an active clinical practice at the highest level.
Your days will blend clinical teaching (up to 90% of duties) with research, mentorship, and institutional service. You'll supervise veterinary students, interns, and residents; assess student learning; provide educational guidance; and participate in evening and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled by the teaching hospital. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists—anesthesiologists, medical imaging experts, pathologists, and others—all committed to delivering exceptional care and advancing the field through integrated, evidence-based approaches.
The Internal Medicine Service is the clinical backbone of this teaching hospital, and you'll have access to world-class diagnostic and therapeutic resources: advanced medical imaging (digital radiography, fluoroscopy, specialized ultrasound, CT, and a recently upgraded MRI system with exceptional image quality), a fully equipped endoscopy suite (gastrointestinal, urinary, respiratory, laser, snare cautery), and an internationally recognized blood bank that supports critical patient care while serving as a training and research resource. You'll work alongside 1 other clinician teacher, 1 professor, and 4 residents in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment.
