About the Role

Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley (AECFV) is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join their AAHA-accredited, 24-hour facility in Langley. This is a chance to practice high-quality emergency medicine in a respected, long-established hospital while enjoying everything the West Coast offers—easy access to mountains, lakes, forests, and the cultural amenities of nearby Vancouver.

You'll be part of a collaborative team supported by a full-time board-certified internist. The hospital is busy and diverse; no two shifts are the same. You'll have access to advanced diagnostics and treatment capabilities, including emergency surgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, and CT imaging. AECFV also maintains one of Canada's largest veterinary blood banks, serving hospitals across BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical and surgical care for a diverse caseload across all species and presentations
  • Perform emergency surgical procedures independently and collaboratively
  • Utilize advanced diagnostics (ultrasound, CT imaging, endoscopy) to support patient care
  • Collaborate with the board-certified internist and RVT team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Contribute to ongoing education and professional growth initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as an emergency veterinarian
  • Proven hands-on experience performing emergency surgical procedures
  • Eligibility to work in BC without a restricted license
  • Strong clinical judgment and collaborative mindset
