About the Role

This isn't a desk job. You'll cast the vision for the management team, mentor veterinarians toward their goals, oversee surgical and medical cases, and ensure the highest standards of care. At the same time, you'll roll up your sleeves and provide veterinary services alongside your team. The practice is committed to continuous learning and development, with opportunities for mentorship across the VetStrategy network of over 1,500 DVMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Development: Set the vision for clinic management, work closely with veterinarians on clinical and personal goals, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures, and address client concerns collaboratively.
- Monitoring and Feedback: Participate in clinic and staff performance discussions, facilitate veterinarian meetings, ensure client confidence in medical services, and follow up on protocol adherence.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Act as a professional role model, guide veterinary staff to operate at the highest level, establish a collaborative culture for patient care, and provide continuing education across VetStrategy clinics.
- Hands-on Support: Build community awareness and loyalty, innovate operational practices, contribute to hiring decisions, and oversee narcotic use authorization.
- Advancing Medical Care: Oversee surgical and medical cases for all DVMs, maintain and improve quality of medicine and surgical procedures, establish medical protocols, and elevate care standards through coaching and development.
Requirements
- Provincial DVM licensing, or eligibility to be licensed
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
- Passion for leading veterinary teams
- Enthusiasm, energy, and a growth mindset
- Strong desire to educate and build relationships with clients
- Excellent communication skills
